Employees or future slav.. err.. workers! |
Hello there!! What
about this for a change? My usual readers will start to complain, but
I a very logical explanation for the difference in my writing. Has
I've already told here, the two main reasons I started writing this
blog are the passion for writing and a way to show my work and my
style to any possible employer. So, I remembered a interview I've
given, while applying to a marketing communication job in a
technology development company, where I faced the whole team (3 or 4
members) that made a very ugly face when I told them I had not
written any text in English to show them.
I spent the rest of the
interview shaking because I knew the opportunity died when I told
them that. When I left the building, I loosened the tie knot and
called them a lot of ugly names, those pigs, slave drivers that
denied me the opportunity of working for them three months for free
(oh yes), even after I told them that I could perfectly write and
talk in English, although I could not show them any text. So, this is
my effort to never have to pass trough that situation again and
convert my self to a happy employee, in my wool coat, hooves and tie.

Possible future employer's face when you don't have a text in English to show |
I was very pissed off to
realize that the unemployment crisis in Portugal has reached this
point. There are so many young workers fresh out of college,
searching for a job opportunity, that our lords and masters take the
liberty of denying us work for free. The companies discard one
trainee after another, without even thinking of paying them, because
there are plenty of them in line that don't mind working a few months
for free just to pile up curriculum sheets. Even in this legally
masked slavery it's hard to fit in. But society has become so
synthetic that the set won't change unless we, plastic eating flock
of sheep, rise up and start denying them our abilities and
competence. But I still need the experience, so here I go, along with
the livestock, coming in and out of trains and boats and plains where
the quality and comfort is every day more similar to that of cows and
pigs going to slaughter houses, getting stocked up in trucks to the
sound of the whiplash.
Anyway, now I’ll have
to write another English text where I won't use this much adjectives
to criticize my possible employers. Maybe I'll start
Googletranslating all of my blog texts, so all of my readers can have
double the fun in two different languages. Who knows, maybe I'll
learn Mandarin.
Yours Truly
One of the Sheep
